31 Days of Everything Home - Day One - An Introduction

Good morning! I've decided to take the plunge and sign up to the 31 day challenge
A writing challenge every October, every day.

I've chosen my topic that I'll be writing abut for this month of October, and it is '31 days of Everything Home'

You can find out how all about the challenge and linking up by clicking here. This challenge was started by the amazing Myquillyn Smith at The NesterYou will find my linkup to these posts here.

So I hope to have you all follow along and I hope that you enjoy what you find here about Everything Home!

Now for my first 'Everything Home' post ...

My friends home is beautiful. Her style is very different to that of my own, but there's something about her home that I just love. I find her home interesting and personal. While there the other night, I glanced over to her coffee table and saw the most delightful looking book I've seen in a while. It was begging me to browse through it's fresh smelling pages and my friend, knowing I'm a book freak, told me to go for it!

It's called 'Down to Earth' a guide to simple.

As I devoured each page and photo, a beautiful passage on 'home' rung true ...

"Your home should be the one place where you and your family know with absolute certainty they are loved, where they can relax and be their true selves, where everyone can recuperate from being at school or at work, and have fun, help, be productive and creative and learn how to live. Your home is where children should develop their values and where parents should strive to live by theirs. Home is far more than just furniture, bricks and mortar".
